Humboldt-Residency Program 2025 at Schloss Wiepersdorf

From August 4 to 15, the eleven participants of the Humboldt Residency Program of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation gathered at Schloss Wiepersdorf.

The goal of the program is to develop ideas collaboratively and share them with audiences beyond academia. To this end, the Foundation brings together an international and transdisciplinary group of researchers, artists, journalists, and activists to address a topic of global societal relevance.

In 2025, the theme is “The Future of Food.” Participants will explore questions of sustainability in food production, the health risks of highly processed foods, and how consumers can be better informed about their own eating habits.

The rural surroundings of Wiepersdorf provided an ideal setting for these discussions. On August 13, a public panel on “Innovation and Sustainability in Agriculture in Brandenburg” took place, where the participants exchanged ideas with Nils Plambeck, Head of Arable Farming at agora agrar, as well as Ralf and Björn Marklowski, who run Lebenslust Bio in Jüterbog.
