ART WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN

The Schloss Wiepersdorf Art Workshop is for children aged 7 to 11. Here, they can paint, draw, model and get creative. The workshop will be run by Nick Crowe (Galerie Jägerschere, Wiepersdorf) and Kaj Osteroth (former Wiepersdorf fellow).

On the last date, September 14, there will be a joint exhibition.

Paula Fürstenberg, Wiepersdorf fellow from Brandenburg, reads from her second novel, "Weltalltage" (Space Days). With a great deal of humor and warmth, Paula Fürstenberg tells the story of a friendship of two young people from East Germany. She writes about what it means not to function in a world where everything has to be functional, about the body and how we treat it, and about where empathy begins—and where it must end.

“For me, Wolfgang Heise was part of that network of friendships that will never appear in future history books, but that stretched across the country and helped us to live,” recalled writer Christa Wolf about him. The now almost forgotten philosopher led a fascinating life in the GDR, shaped by the tension between communist belief and the sobering reality of socialism.

Former Wiepersdorf fellow Lukas Zittlau marks Wolfgang Heise’s 100th birthday with an introduction to his life and thought.

As a meeting point for Berlin’s international contemporary poetry and music scene, the event series “Vocations – open space” offers a stage for artists exploring a wide range of musical and vocal practices that are based on or deeply rooted in poetry. The edition on September 30 will feature the composition “DESIRE” by former Wiepersdorf fellow Ying Wang.

GROUP FELLOWSHIP: INTERNATIONAL ARNIM-GESELLSCHAFT

From July 17 to 20, the International Arnim Society (IAG) held a colloquium on “Play and Playing in the Romantic Period”. It was organized by Prof. Dr. Christof Wingertszahn and Prof. Dr. Roswitha Burwick (IAG) together with the Schloss Wiepersdorf Cultural Foundation.

GROUP FELLOWSHIP: HUMBOLDT-RESIDENCY PROGRAM

From August 4 to 15, the eleven participants of the Humboldt Residency Program of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation gathered at Schloss Wiepersdorf. The program’s goal is to bring together people from science, the arts, journalism, and politics to jointly develop ideas and share them with audiences beyond academia. In 2025, the program focuses on the theme “The Future of Food.”

CAFÉ, MUSEUM AND PARK

The café in the Orangery and the museum at Schloss Wiepersdorf are open until September 28 on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The castle park can be visited all year round. Thanks to our open air “Kosmos Wiepersdorf” you can walk a tour on your own and get information via QR Codes.
