Artists of the bbk Brandenburg at Schloss Wiepersdorf

From July 20 to 29, 2026, eight members of the Association of Visual Artists (bbk) Brandenburg are staying at Schloss Wiepersdorf as part of a group residency. They are working to conceptualize their artworks for the exhibition "Territorien und Streifgebiete" (Territories and Wandering Grounds), which will open in Potsdam in early 2027.

The "Territorien und Streifgebiete" project features artistic works that explore the transformations of landscapes along the fringes, voids, and outskirts of urban spaces. On the one hand, the participating artists bring non-human actors – such as plants, animals, or natural elements – to the fore, examining them in interplay with architectural and industrial interventions. On the other hand, they look at the traces that profound landscape changes, e.g., due to industry, leave in the memory of local residents.

Their shared time in Wiepersdorf allows the artists to work on individual projects, exchange ideas, and develop a common vision for the presentation formats and the exhibition space in Potsdam. A documentary component, which will also be shown at the exhibition, captures this preparation phase at Schloss Wiepersdorf and in other parts of Brandenburg. The recipients of the group residency are the artists Roswitha von den Driesch, Andrea J. Grote, Betina Kuntzsch, Katrin von Lehmann, Ingeborg Lockemann, Patricia Pisani, Doris Sprengel, and Susken Rosenthal.
