OPEN STUDIOS AND MORE: SMALL SUMMER FESTIVAL IN WIEPERSDORF

This August, the Cultural Foundation Schloss Wiepersdorf invites everyone to come and meet its current fellows and learn about their projects. Featured artists are Taslima Ahmed and Hyunju Oh, author Susanne Schädlich, and artist and art theorist Manuel Gnam. Key themes include East-West German sentiments, art and artificial intelligence, and different modes of artistic expression.
Like every Sunday this summer, the museum and the café in the Orangery will be open from 1:00 p.m.

SCHLOSS WIEPERSDORF FEATURED ON ZDF
In early July, presenter Peter Twiehaus and his team visited Schloss Wiepersdorf for the documentary feature “Artist Couples: Bettina and Achim von Arnim”. The broadcast date is now confirmed: the segment will air on Thursday, August 20, 2026, on ZDF’s Morgenmagazin at 6:15, 7:15, and 8:15 a.m. A longer version follows a week later, on Thursday, August 27, on ZDF’s Mittagsmagazin between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.

EUROPEAN FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM IN WIEPERSDORF
In the fall of 2026, three outstanding scholars will be visiting Wiepersdorf as part of a European fellowship program sponsored by the Brandenburg Ministry of Science, Research, and Culture. Dr. Esra Demir-Gürsel is a legal scholar from Berlin and Istanbul specializing in international human rights, Prof. Jonathan White is a professor of political science at the London School of Economics, where he conducts research on democracy, political thought, and political theory; and Dr. Ewa Wojno-Owczarska is a literary scholar and comparative literature specialist from Warsaw and the director of the Humboldt Network Topographies of Globalization.
They will gather on November 4, 2026, at the Brandenburg State Representation in Berlin for a public event as part of Science Week to discuss the challenges facing Europe.

GROUP FELLOWSHIP: OSTKREUZ – PHOTOGRAPHER’S AGENCY
At the end of June, the curatorial team from OSTKREUZ – Agentur der Fotografen spent four days at Schloss Wiepersdorf on a group fellowship, working on the concept for the upcoming exhibition "Was tun wir. Bilder in Zeiten zerfallender Gewissheiten" (What Are We Doing. Images in Times of Crumbling Certainties). The exhibition will be on view from August 29 to November 8, 2026, at the Robotron Kantine in Dresden, a venue operated by Kunsthaus Dresden.

GROUP FELLOWSHIP: “TERRITORIES AND WANDERING GROUNDS” WITH VISUAL ARTISTS FROM BBK BRANDENBURG
From July 20 to 29, 2026, eight members of the Association of Visual Artists (bbk) Brandenburg visited Schloss Wiepersdorf as part of a group residency. They were working to conceptualize their artworks for the exhibition "Territorien und Streifgebiete" (Territories and Wandering Grounds), which will open in Potsdam in early 2027.

Fellows of the Cultural Foundation publish stories about their experiences and thoughts during their residency at Schloss Wiepersdorf. The latest post, titled “Detached from the world”, was written by author Susanne Schädlich. The text follows her wanderings through Wiepersdorf and its neighboring villages, blending present-day impressions with glimpses of the past.

CAFÉ, MUSEUM AND PARK
The café in the Orangery and the museum at Schloss Wiepersdorf are open until the end of September every Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The castle park can be visited all year round. Thanks to our open air “Kosmos Wiepersdorf” you can walk a tour on your own and get information via QR Codes.
