Perspectives on Historical and Cultural-Anthropological Research: What do historical place names, ladies-in-waiting, personal diaries, English travelers in Dresden, GDR garages, Sorbian Easter traditions, and Saxon mining have in common? They all represent different facets of the research conducted at the Institute for Saxon History and Folklore (ISGV) in Dresden.

A concert featuring compositions by Bettine von Arnim and Johanna Kinkel, who was looking for a fresh start in Berlin in 1831 and lived with Bettine von Arnim for several months.
Performers: Ensemble Svolian: Svea Schildknecht (soprano), Annette Winker (bassoon), Olivia Shurman (grand piano).
The event will be hosted and was conceptualized by former Wiepersdorf fellow Dorothee Schabert.

SUSANNE SCHÄDLICH: LETTERS WITHOUT A SIGNATURE – READING IN JÜTERBOG (IN GERMAN)

Susanne Schädlich, a 2026 Wiepersdorf literary fellow, will be reading from her book ‘Briefe ohne Unterschrift’ (Letters without a signature) in Jüterbog. This was the title of a British radio program that began in 1949. Anonymous letters from East German citizens were read aloud on the show every Friday evening for over 25 years. Susanne Schädlich discovered these unique historical documents and tells the story of the British journalists who stood up to the GDR for so long.

An exhibition featuring works created during a residency at Wiepersdorf in 2025. The works offer an unusual insight into Paula Müller’s exploration of landscape painting. They draw on elements of Romantic aesthetics and weave them into narratives that are both new and yet seem familiar.
Open during the museum's regular hours: every Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

GROUP FELLOWSHIP: FILMING OF “HALLRÄUME” AT SCHLOSS WIEPERSDORF
During an initial residency in May 2025 and a second in April 2026, Cony Theis, artist and author, and Jürgen Heiter, writer, director and producer, worked at Schloss Wiepersdorf as part of a group fellowship. There, they developed the essayistic feature film "Hallräume" (Echo Chambers), which is set in and around Wiepersdorf.

CAFÉ, MUSEUM AND PARK
The café in the Orangery and the museum at Schloss Wiepersdorf are open every Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The castle park can be visited all year round. Thanks to our open air “Kosmos Wiepersdorf” you can walk a tour on your own and get information via QR Codes.
