APPLICATIONS FOR FELLOWSHIPS IN 2027

You can apply for a Fellowship in 2027 from February 15 until April 15, 2026. National and international artists and academics from the fields of humanities and social sciences (romanticism or topics focusing on the previously divided Germany), literature, visual arts and composition are eligible to apply.

In celebration of World Poetry Day, former Wiepersdorf Fellow Matthias Nawrat will take part in the annual reading, which is organized in collaboration with Haus für Poesie, the German Commission for UNESCO, the DAAD Artists-in-Residence Program in Berlin, the Czech Literary Centre, the International Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia Bamberg, the S. Fischer Stiftung and the Kulturstiftung Schloss Wiepersdorf.

The Cultural Foundation Schloss Wiepersdorf presents Gerd Kroske’s documentary "Pride & Attitude" (2025), a film about former female East German industrial workers and the disappearance of utopias. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director and Christoph Tannert, author and curator. The film and the discussion will be in German.

BERLIN LITERATURE PRIZE GOES TO MATTHIAS NAWRAT

Former Wiepersdorf Fellow Matthias Nawrat will be awarded the 2026 Berlin Literature Prize for his outstanding literary work. The prize, worth €30,000, will be presented on February 25 by the Mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, in the ballroom of the Rotes Rathaus Berlin. Congratulations!

CAFÉ, MUSEUM AND PARK

The café in the Orangery and the museum at Schloss Wiepersdorf are closed during the autumn and the winter time.

The castle park can be visited all year round. Thanks to our open air “Kosmos Wiepersdorf” you can walk a tour on your own and get information via QR Codes.
