Literature Festival in Buckow
Readings by Hatice Açıkgöz, Inés Burdow, Şehnaz Dost, Tomer Dotan-Dreyfus, Matthias Nawrat, Veronika Patočková, Tanasgol Sabbagh, John Sauter, Mbakumua Tjaveondja und Saskia Warzecha

As part of the two-year residency program ‘Seen from afar - Encounters in Brandenburg’, ten authors from different backgrounds and with diverse realities of life were invited to Brandenburg, Berlin and Lower Silesia to draw attention to diverse stories that are not part of the mainstream literary canon. The Brecht-Weigel-Haus in Buckow, where the writer and rapper John Sauter was a fellow for four weeks in September 2024, is the place where the literature project ‘Seen from afar’ will now celebrate its crowning finale on July 19, 2025. In an idyllic setting on Schermützelsee - the place where Bertolt Brecht spent the last years of his life - they will share their stories and residency experiences with the audience in readings and talks. Visitors also have the opportunity to get to know the participating literary venues.
