In cooperation with the Brandenburg Summer Concerts, a Musethica session will take place for the first time from June 7 to 15, 2025, in the region around Niederer Fläming and Jüterbog. During this week, the Musethica e.V. will bring two international string ensembles to the area to perform more than 20 chamber music concerts in social institutions. The young musicians will visit, among others, senior residences in Jüterbog and Steinreich, a transitional housing center for refugees and a hospice in Luckenwalde, the correctional facility in Luckau-Duben, as well as schools and kindergartens with special educational needs, including in Herzberg (Elster) and Jüterbog. All of these concerts are free of charge for the institutions and are part of a training program for young musicians. They gain valuable performance experience and receive continuous instruction from selected mentors. In Brandenburg, the musicians will be accompanied by Musethica founder and violist Avri Levitan and cellist Konstanze von Gutzeit.
The ensembles:
Beija-flor String Quartet (Austria)
Ensemble Finale (Israel)
To conclude the concert week, the musicians will give a public concert at Schloss Wiepersdorf on Sunday, June 15. Everyone is warmly invited to attend. The program includes works by Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Further information about the program can be found here.
The concert week is organized with the kind support of the Kulturstiftung Schloss Wiepersdorf, the Amt Dahme/Mark, and the association Rock und Rhythmen gegen Krebs e.V., and is funded by the Deutsche Bank Foundation, the Neumayer Foundation, and the EWE Foundation. The session is part of the EU-funded project 1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education Through Social Inclusion and is co-financed by the European Union.
