Heaven's Human Jukebox - we hear what we see
An infotainment event by and with O.W. Himmel
The visual artist O.W. Himmel sees himself as an archivist of everyday graphic and typographic culture. For decades, he has been collecting unique logos and brandings, which he elevates to art in the form of enlarged linocuts.
This has resulted in a series of almost 200 prints from 120 years of worldwide record culture.
As part of Heaven's Human Jukebox, O.W. Himmel will show the lino print graphic of one record label at a time and play a 7-inch single from the corresponding label. Background information on the label and the respective artists will be provided, making this event an entertaining acoustic and visual history lesson.
