Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf

Wiepersdorf Castle, located in Brandenburg approximately 80 km south of Berlin, holds
a very special place in the history of the arts in Germany, particularly in the field of literature.
As the former residence of Ludwig Achim and Bettina von Arnim, the foremost literary couple of the German Romantic period, Wiepersdorf enjoys a long tradition at the site of keen intellectual exchanges. After an at times uncertain past, the task of maintaining the manor house as an artists’ residence was assumed by the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz with the support of the Federal State of Brandenburg and the Federal Republic of Germany in 2006.

The program at Wiepersdorf Castle has three main aspects: preservation - support  -  the exchange of ideas.
The Von Arnim Museum preserves the memory of Achim und Bettina von Arnim and documents the history of the estate.
Fellowships for residencies at this tradition-rich historic landmark will continue to be offered to artists from all disciplines from both Germany and abroad.
The public events, readings, concerts, colloquia and exhibitions at the Wiepersdorf Castle are an invitation to the public to engage in an exciting dialog on current issues in art, literature and the humanities.
