Kosmos Wiepersdorf

The cultural and historical tour "Kosmos Wiepersdorf" holds information and stories about the grounds, the buildings and the various residents of Schloss Wiepersdorf at ten stations.

At each of the stops you will find a sign with a QR code. If you scan these codes with your smartphone, you can hear stories of three to six minutes that introduce you to the object or topic in question. Everything you listen to on the tour can also be followed or read on your smartphone, tablet, or the website of the Schloss Wiepersdorf Cultural Foundation. Additionally, each of the stops offers the opportunity to find out more in-depth knowledge about what you have heard or read with the help of expert information.

Museum
International Museum Day

Sunday, May 15, 2022, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Museum in Schloss Wiepersdorf (Preview)

On International Museum Day, museums invite visitors to discover their houses and collections in analog and digital form.

On this occasion, the newly designed Museum in Schloss Wiepersdorf can be visited before the official opening, which is planned for the summer. In five rooms, the development of the von Arnims' manor house to a residence for artists and scientists will be shown. In addition to the history and mindset of Romanticism, the exhibition highlights the period between 1947 and 1989, when writers in particular came to Schloss Wiepersdorf to work.

Admission is free.

The Café in the Orangery is open from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

BETHY TRIO

BETHY TRIO was developed during a stay at Schloss Wiepersdorf and brings together text fragments by Kathy Acker, Bettina von Arnim, Dodie Bellamy and Sarah Schulman, among others. In a staging that aims at the possibility of trans-historicity, the words deal with science and poetry, the individuality of the genders and the expressions of overcoming Christian ideals of love, moving between historical epochs. With Tilman Hecker (direction), Anna Papathanasiou, Ivan Cheng, FRZNTE (performance), Scott Bolman (lights), Lars Paschke (costumes) and Thorsten Hoppe (sound).

Interview
Viktor Yerofeyev on Putin and the War

Repeatedly, Russian writer Viktor Vladimirovich Yerofeyev publicly criticized Putin and Russian politics.

His new book is called "The Great Gopnik" and is about Russian President Putin, whom he met personally several times a long time ago. But for Yerofeyev, the war is not only Putin's war – Europe, he says, has also made mistakes that contributed to the current situation. 3sat/Kulturzeit and rbb Inforadio spoke with the writer about the war in Ukraine, Putin as well as his intentions and his own future.

Viktor Yerofeyev is currently staying with his family in Schloss Wiepersdorf.

Opening of the Theme Year “Lebenskunst – Kulturland Brandenburg 2022” with Schloss Wiepersdorf Fellow Tomomi Adachi

Landesgartenschau Beelitz

On May 20, the theme year “Lebenskunst – Kulturland Brandenburg 2022” will be opened at the 7th Landesgartenschau in Beelitz. Among others, Schloss Wiepersdorf fellow and sound poet Tomomi Adachi will perform at the ceremony. Afterwards, cultural institutions participating in the 2022 theme year will present their work in numerous workshops and performances.

World Poetry Day 2022

UNESCO's World Poetry Day recognizes the value of poetry, the diversity of language as a cultural asset, and the importance of oral traditions. Since it was first initiated 22 years ago, the House of Poetry and its partners have organized the central event in Germany.

This year, the Syrian-Palestinian poet Ramy Al-Asheq, who lives in Berlin, Athena Farrokhzad, born in Tehran and living in Stockholm, the poet Daryna Gladun from Kiev, Mirko Bonné from Germany and Schloss Wiepersdorf alumnus Endre Kukorelly from Hungary present works.

Under the patronage of the German Commission for UNESCO

A joint event of the Haus für Poesie and the German Commission for UNESCO, the Akademie Schloss Solitude, the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program, the Cultural Foundation Schloss Wiepersdorf and the Internationale Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia.

Café in the Orangery

The Café in the Orangery of Schloss Wiepersdorf can be visited on Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. during the summer months. The castle park can be visited all year round.
