Jan Snela

Mäusenovelle oder Für eine noch kleinere Literatur

— A lecture in German language —

Jan Snela talks about his work on the Mäusenovelle, the book project with which he was invited to Schloss Wiepersdorf. He explores the haiku as a literary site of an "autre mondialisation" and as a suitable medium for writing in times of climate change. The focus is on the productivity of differences, on "ma" as a spatial principle of unfolding nuances that escape generalizations, and on his very personal fascination with the smallest of forms that world literature has produced to date.

The lecture was held as part of the Virtual Residency Program on 5 August 2020 through Zoom.
