Until its closure a few years ago, the restaurant "Zur Alten Schmiede" was an important meeting place between the villagers of Wiepersdorf and the guests of the castle. On September 24, 2022 the tradition of mutual solidarity was revived for one day in the restaurant “Zur Alten Schmiede” with a cultural and culinary program. Filmmaker Branka Pavlovic accompanied the event on film.
After an exhibition by the group K11 in the studio house of Schloss Wiepersdorf, the Heimatverein Fläming-Freunde e.V. made Klemmkuchen over an open fire in front of the restaurant "Zur Alten Schmiede". The writer Nellja Veremej read texts written during her stay in Wiepersdorf. Nezaket Ekici showed the documentary of her carriage ride performance "Die Nähe der Ferne" about the long-distance relationship of Bettina and Achim von Arnim.
